Beginning Baking (i.e. Skill level 2-45)
Buy a spit at the 3rd shop on the left out from Kaladim and your set! (Nalda Gristbone as mentioned above).
A good recipe to work on: Batwing Crunchies (ingredients: batwings and frosting, trivial 45, produce: 1). Get the batwings either in Gfay or right outside Kaladim... plenty for the picking. Personally, I think the best source for bat wings is the Paineel Newbie Zone. I died falling into the pit and while in search of a Necro and Cleric to lend a hand, I farmed until I couldn’t hold any more. The bats popped faster than I could kill them. :) I am not sure but I think this zone is seldom used (at least in the four hours I was there looking for help there were only 2-3 players in the zone). Get the frosting at the 2nd shop on left out from Kaladim. Combine one batwing and one frosting in the spit to make them.
Intermediate Baking (i.e. Skill level 46-82)
The key to intermediate and Advanced baking is: FISHING, FISHING, and more FISHING!! You can either choose to fish, or buy the fish from vendors (usually vendors right next to large bodies of water sell fish. True for inside Felwithe and at the docks in Butcher Block and Natimbi. I chose to fish most of the time (Fishing skill now 139), it's a nice diversion from fighting, it can feed you also, and you can be sitting and medding while fishing and raising that skill level.
Best place to fish... Natimbi!! BUT, DO NOT fish on the dock!!! There are many careless people who train that area and you will die!!! Or you can also just run down, to the docks in Butcherblock and fish more "traditionally". You may have to back up a bit from the edge of the pond to make sure that your lure lands in the water, but it can be done.
A good recipe to work on: Fish Filets (ingredients: fish, jug of sauce, trivial 82, produce: 2). Get the fish from either the pond inside Kaladim or run to the docks. Get the jug of sauce at the 2nd shop on left out from Kaladim (may have been same shop you got wings from to make the Batwing Crunchies). Use the spit tomake them. Notice that for each one fish and one jug of sauce you get two fish filets... nice!
Advanced Baking (i.e. Skill level 83-135)
Another recipe to work on: Fish Rolls (ingredients: fish, batwings, trivial 135, produce: 1). You don't have to move from the Butcherblock area. Hunt bats outside Kaladim and fish as in the Fish Filets description above. Use the spit to make them. You'll notice that with this recipe there is no component that you actually have to buy!
